KnitedgeReal-time edge detection with centralized web monitoring

AI-Powered
Fabric Defect Detection

Knitedge uses a camera and edge device to detect fabric defects in real time, while a web application provides centralized monitoring of machines and detected defects.

Product overview

Two applications.
One system.

Detection happens at the machine, where speed matters. Monitoring happens in the browser, where the whole floor is visible at once.

  1. Edge Application

    01

    Camera

    Images the fabric

  2. 02

    Edge AI

    Runs at the machine

  3. 03

    Defect Detection

    Flags and names it

  4. Web Application

    Web Dashboard

    Monitors every machine

At the machine

Edge Application

Sees every defect the moment it is knitted.

  • Operator dashboard with a live camera stream
  • Real-time defect detection, with each defect named
  • Roll creation page to set up each roll for the fabric being knitted
  • Runs directly at the knitting machine, built for fast floor use

Web Application

Every machine and every defect, in one place.

  • Detailed dashboard of machines, defects and production
  • Machines page to manage every connected machine
  • Alerts page with real-time defect alerts
  • User management to control who has access

The AI model

Trained on good fabric.
Every defect named.

We train the model using only images of good fabric, so it learns what right looks like. Anything that deviates is detected as a defect, and the defect recogniser names it.

  1. 01

    Learn from good fabric

The model is trained only on images of defect-free fabric.

  2. 02

    Detect what is different

Any area that does not match good fabric is flagged as a defect.

  3. 03

    Recogniser names the defect

Each detection is given a defect name, so you know what was found.

Knitedge Edge Application

The operator sets up each roll, watches the live stream, and sees every defect detected and named in real time.

The operator dashboard shows the camera feed

  3. 03

    Defect detected and named

The model flags it, the recogniser names it

  4. 04

    Sent to the web application

Every defect is recorded against its roll and machine

Knitedge Web Application

Every edge device reports into one web application, so machines, defects and production data can be reviewed remotely.

How it works

From the knitting machine
to your screen.

Follow a single defect from the fabric to the dashboard.

Capture

The camera images the fabric as it is knitted.

Key features

Built for the knitting floor.

01

Real-Time Defect Detection

A model trained on good fabric flags defects as they are knitted, and the recogniser names them.

02

Edge AI

Inference runs on a device at the machine, close to the camera.

03

Machine Monitoring

The machines page shows which are running, idle or reporting defects.

04

Centralized Defect Management

Every named defect is stored, with real-time alerts on the alerts page.

05

Multi-Machine Support

Connect machine after machine, with user management to control access.

06

Operator-Friendly UI

A live stream and roll creation in one simple screen at the machine.

Deployment

On-premises or cloud.
Based on your requirements.

We deliver Knitedge as an on-premises installation or as a cloud service, depending on what your business needs.

On-premises

Runs on your own infrastructure.

  • Web application hosted on your servers
  • Data stays inside your network
  • Suits strict IT and data policies
or

Cloud service

No servers to run on site.

  • Web application delivered as a service
  • Access from anywhere with a browser
  • Add machines and sites as you grow

Either way, defect detection runs on the edge device at each knitting machine.

Knitedge

Detect Defects.
Monitor Machines.
From Anywhere.

Tell us about your knitting floor and we will show you Knitedge running on fabric like yours.
